* A wee bit about me and this blog..
Me…”morri” aka Morri Sims, smSims, susan morrison sims
~
to put it simply…
I need a place for all the ideas and thoughts that run through my wild and crazy mind.
To expound formally (a wee bit), I guess I should introduce myself..
I’m morri, a painter and mixed media artist. For detailed boring things about me..such as formal education, exhibition history, etc go to my “official” website–> morriArt (another thing I’m working on…in process of creating a new website).
Anyway, though art is my main focus, I am in the middle of much more! That’s why I’m back in the blogging world..again. I’m returning from a two-year sabbatical. My previous blog is gypsy-heart, I am which I am leaving out there in blog land. I took leave because I was totally burnt out, but for reasons (not yet revealed to me) I now find myself pulled to it again. So I’m going with it..besides,
I want a little corner to write about what interests and intrigues me.
While art may well be my main focus on this site, I do wish and need it to be about much more! This is to be a light-hearted place..not about personal things or family (I tend to keep that private). Nor is to to be about deep-seated (deep-seeded) thoughts or drama. I am totally aware of the problems and issues in my/our world, but in this place, I want to focus on the positives in small and large things that inspire and make me happy.
So…
to name a few:
art (of course)
photography (I seldom go anywhere without some sort of lens in hand)
gardening (vegetables, herbs, & flowers)
cooking (I NEVER thought I would be listing this)
design (on so many levels..most especially fashion..Twyla by Morri is slowly in process)
writing (informally so)
music (I cannot imagine life without music)
travel (so far I’ve been to Rome, Tuscany x3, Venice, and France)
nature (for real & spiritually speaking)
creatures (wild & not)
humanitarianism (through my Rotary club & more)
etc,
etc,
I want to experience all the curiosities, wonders, and things of heart I possibly can! Of course, you are most welcome to join me..
on the journey.
XO,
Ps I almost forgot, I am a free-spirited soul, and you will find that reflected here. This will be a very informal place on all counts..in writing style and in context!

[...] About me..simply so. [...]
So you are back in the blogging world. Lovely.
I want to again thank you for the print you sent – it’s hanging in my Wisconsin studio, but I am trying to decide if I want it inspiring me when I go on my 3 month art sojourn to Tucson.
And I love reading about your gardening. When I get to Tucson I plan to grow a baby basil plant — it is the proper thing to do when one moves into a new home… :-)
Hi Bo!
Thank you! Yes, I have returned. :)
As for the print, you are most welcome. I was happy you won..I need to do another drawing sometime soon. Take it with you..maybe some of those great Tuscan energies will circle back to me. ha ha
Congratulations on the trip!!
Gardening is just as meditative for me as painting! It is also a connection to my grandfather and father..both taught me to love working in the dirt.
So I agree, one must have a basil plant in a new home!
Keep me posted..I will visit your blog soon! You know I love your images and words!
xo,
